Julina, Amelie and Liana

As a family in missions, we never just operate individually, me as the father, doing ministry, or Elli, as the mum, doing ministry. We are always in this together, as a family. As such, our girls are just as much a part of the work we are doing as they are our greatest ministry assignment.
As a father, I could not be prouder of them.

Julina is now in Year 8 and is growing into a wonderful young lady. She has developed a real love for science, particularly biology and chemistry, and enjoys learning how the world works. One thing that stands out about Julina is her sense of responsibility. She plans ahead, keeps track of her schoolwork, and takes ownership of what needs to be done.
She is also surrounded by a great group of friends who genuinely seem to care for one another. They celebrate birthdays together, encourage each other, and share a desire to follow Jesus. Watching those friendships develop has been a real gift.
Like every young teenager, she is learning how to navigate new emotions and challenges. There are moments of tears, moments of frustration, and moments of growth. Through it all, I am incredibly proud of the young woman she is becoming.

Amelie has always been our deep thinker. Whatever she does, she does wholeheartedly.
Whether it is schoolwork, preparing for exams, piano practice, singing with her school band, or playing soccer, she gives it her best effort. She has a strong determination to grow and improve, and I admire her willingness to put in the work required to achieve excellence.
Amelie also thrives on adventure. She loves exploring, climbing trees, trying new things, and embracing challenges. She has built strong friendships at school and is often involved in different activities and gatherings with friends.

Then there is Liana.
Many of you know that Liana faced a number of medical challenges early in life, including her diagnosis of Turner Syndrome. Even before she was born, God spoke something significant to us: that Liana would bring joy to our family.
That has proven true in ways we could never have imagined.
Liana experiences joy so openly and freely. When she is excited about something, her whole body celebrates. She jumps, laughs, and fills the house with enthusiasm. Whatever is happening around her somehow becomes more joyful because of her response to it.
She is also a thoughtful observer. While others are talking, she is often quietly listening, processing, and paying attention. Then, at the most unexpected moment, she will ask a profound question—or sometimes a completely random one—that makes us stop and think or burst out laughing.
As I reflect on all three girls, I am simply grateful.
They love Jesus. They love one another. They love their mum and dad. They are growing into kind, thoughtful young women, and it is a privilege to watch.
I also want to thank the many, many people who have invested in their lives over the years. Some of you have babysat them. Some have been part of our family. Some have encouraged them at church, in ministry, or through simple conversations.
Many of those moments may have seemed small at the time, but together they have helped shape who our girls are becoming.
Thank you for being part of their story.
We are deeply grateful for the many aunties, uncles, friends, and supporters who have loved our family so well over the years, while our own immediate families are in different countries.
